How To Create The Perfect Plan To Launch Your Online Yoga Course?

Creating your first online yoga offer can feel like a big leap. The idea of transitioning from teaching in-person classes to offering something online can be overwhelming. But I’m here to tell you that it’s absolutely doable—and I’m going to break down exactly what I would do if I were starting from scratch.

Step 1: Define Your Non-Negotiables

The first and most important step in creating your online offer is defining your non-negotiables. These are the things in your life that you won’t compromise on—whether it’s time with family, personal practice, or time for self-care. Your non-negotiables will be the foundation of your schedule and will help you create a business that supports your lifestyle, not the other way around.

If you skip this step, you may end up creating an offer that doesn’t nourish you, leading to burnout. Remember, your business should work for you, not drain you.

Step 2: Define Your Offer Format

Once you’ve established your non-negotiables, the next step is to define the format of your offer. This is where you decide what kind of online offer you want to create. Is it going to be a course, a membership, a workshop series, or maybe a 1:1 program? The format should align with your strengths, your audience’s needs, and the lifestyle you want to create.

Choosing the right format is critical because it should not only resonate with you but also serve your students in the best possible way. Step 3: Choose the Topic of Your Offer

Now that you’ve figured out your non-negotiables and chosen your offer format, it’s time to get specific about the topic. Your topic needs to be laser-focused. Instead of creating a general yoga course, hone in on a specific outcome that your students want to achieve, like managing anxiety through yoga, mindfulness, and breathwork.

The key here is specificity. When your offer is specific, it’s easier to market and more compelling to your audience. If your offer is too broad, you run the risk of not attracting anyone because it doesn’t speak directly to their needs.

Deciding on the topic can be challenging for yoga teachers, especially since we often want to create something that helps everyone. But the truth is, trying to appeal to everyone often means you end up appealing to no one. This is why I personally review the topics of all my clients’ offers to ensure they’re creating something irresistible for their community.

Step 4: Create a Lead Magnet to Validate Interest

Before you even think about creating the full offer, it’s crucial to validate that there’s genuine interest in your community. The best way to do this is by creating a lead magnet—a free resource that provides value and helps you build your email list.

For example, if your offer is about managing social anxiety, your lead magnet could be something like “A 45-Minute Routine to Reduce Overwhelm and Feel Confident at Social Events.” This not only gives your audience a taste of what you offer but also helps you gauge interest before you invest time in creating the full course.

Creating a lead magnet allows you to see if there’s real demand for your offer. If people are eager to download your free resource, it’s a good sign that they’ll be interested in your paid offer as well.

Step 5: Create Your Launch Plan

Here’s where most people get excited, but hold on—we’re still not creating the offer just yet. First, you need to create a launch plan. This involves warming up your community with specific content, selling your course, and then creating it one module at a time, delivering the content as you go.

The length of your launch plan will depend on the type of offer you’re creating. For example, launching a membership might require a longer content plan compared to a one-time workshop. As part of your launch plan, consider hosting a live event like a masterclass or a challenge. Live events are powerful tools because they give your audience a taste of what it’s like to work with you, and they’re great for building excitement and urgency around your offer.

Step 6: Record Your Program After You’ve Made Sales

Finally, after you’ve validated your idea and made some sales through your launch, it’s time to record your program. Notice that I recommend recording your content after you’ve made some sales. This approach saves you time and ensures that you’re creating something that people actually want.

If you’re nervous about selling something before you’ve created it, you can start by recording an introductory module. This way, you’ll have something to show while still retaining the flexibility to adapt the rest of the content based on feedback from your students.

Start by defining your non-negotiables, choose the right offer format, pick a specific topic, validate interest with a lead magnet, create a solid launch plan, and finally, record your program once you’ve made some sales.

Creating your first online offer doesn’t have to be overwhelming. With the right approach, you can build something that not only aligns with your lifestyle but also provides immense value to your students.
