The Funnel Strategy I Used for My Ashtanga Yoga Course

For my Ashtanga Yoga course, I created an Ashtanga cheat sheet. It provided a step-by-step breakdown of the half-primary sequence and included mini visuals of each pose. This lead magnet solved a common problem for my audience: how to practice Ashtanga without having the sequence memorized. It also gave them a preview of the full course.

The key here is to focus on the destination—what problem you are helping them solve—not the process (how many hours or modules are in your course). My cheat sheet resonated with my ideal client and brought in hundreds of new subscribers to my email list, each of whom was a potential buyer.

2. Nurture Your Audience with an Email Sequence

Once someone downloaded the lead magnet, they entered my email nurture sequence. These automated emails were carefully designed to build trust and offer additional value, moving them closer to making a purchase.

Rather than focusing on the technical details of the course (like how many videos or modules it had), I focused on the transformation they would achieve: developing a deeper understanding of Ashtanga, mastering the poses, and becoming more confident in their practice.

This is an important aspect of the funnel because it helps guide potential students toward seeing the value of your course without you having to manually follow up with each person.

3. Sales Content Plan

Alongside the emails, I created a strategic sales content plan. This included consistent content on my Instagram Stories, a pinned post in my bio, and other key spots where my audience would be reminded of the value my course offered.

Each piece of content was designed to keep the problem and transformation front and center, showing how my course could help them reach their goals. And the best part? I didn’t need to manually create this content every day. It was all set up to run on autopilot.

4. Launch Once, Then Automate

I launched the Ashtanga course twice live to test my content, messaging, and funnel structure. After seeing what worked best, I set everything up to run on autopilot.

This means I didn’t have to show up and promote the course repeatedly. The funnel did the heavy lifting, nurturing potential students and guiding them to buy without any extra work on my part.
